Caught On Film

Finally, new updates in Facebook. I'm referring to the photo albums. Self reminder : I need more practice with my external flash! 2009 is coming to an end sadly. Camp, outings, parties, boring wedding dinners, being a couch potato, results - basically sums up my year end holidays.
I don't really celebrate Christmas, but I got the best christmas present this year thanks to my family, friends and JPN!

Taken at Gurney Hotel, toilet break during a wedding dinner.
New haircut, don't really fancy it. I've learnt my lesson, never ever visit the saloon after results were taken. I was still dumbstruck and practically nodded to everything. There goes my hair.
Thanks to Sim for the book, a reward from him for getting good results. Its Slumdog Millionaire! I'm a slow reader but I'm loving the prologue already. By the way, hope you enjoy your new job at Borders!

I MIGHT be transfering to a new school next year, depending on the subjects. No more The One Academy until I finish my high school. How sad!
I'm looking forward to another great year. Happy 2010!

Rasa Sayang - Day 2

Continuation from the previous entry.
Mum was the first one to wake up, I was next. She passed me a glass of water, you know, benefits of drinking water in the morning. ;)

@ the balcony early in the morning.

Copied the pose from Master Daryl. *grins*

Another breathtaking view from the balcony.
It was still early and I got nothing to do, so I left the room and took a stroll along the beach.

Self-timer. :) Spent an hour or two around.

Got back into the room. Oh ya, I missed the breakfast. I gave two complimentaries to Adrian and mum, cause it was the first and last night for her, and Adrian can definitely eat more than me. Breakfast per person costs RM70+ at Rasa Sayang - Don't play play.
Watched TV, checked out the room facilities and so on.
Went to Gurney during the day to catch up movies with friends. Couldn't stay any longer in the hotel cause everything is way too expensive. For example, one spa session can actually cost more than a thousand. I don't think I need to explain further.
*
Back to hotel for buffet dinner at Spice Market Café. (Click to read more)
It was really good to dine in, with lots of cravings and cuisines served.

Christmas tree at SMC.

Dining table.

The environment at SMC.

Trying to show the wackier side of me. :D Thumbs up to the food there!

Andrea.

Her sushis from the Japanese kitchen theatre.

Satisfaction.

Eat and eat and eat.
Until he sees the bill. 100% candid picture!
I end up signing the bill cause the room was checked in under my name. Felt weird though.
With one of the chefs. Kitchen theatres as shown in the background.
Left the SMC and walked around, we went to the other part of the resort - the Rasa Wing area where the hotel guests are served personally. The suites over there are so much prettier and luxurious.
CHI, The Spa which offers superduperomgwtf expensive spa sessions.
The couple.
Back to Garden Wing, the christmas tree at the lounge.
Complimentary fruits in a nice Chinese basket. The sweetest apple I ever tasted. *exaggerates*
The double As and I finished up half dozen of beer while playing some game at the balcony. Loser drinks. Thank goodness I went during the weekdays, there were lesser hotel guests. Both of them claimed that my laughter was way too loud (it was middle of the night). I was certainly high enough.
> Online, sleep.

Rasa Sayang - Day 1

Used up my two-nights hotel stay voucher last week. I had a great time there! Its the only 6-star hotel in Penang if I'm not mistaken, but I know it is noted as one of the Top 25 Hotels & Resort by Smart Travel Asia's Best in Travel Poll 2009.
On the way to there, picked up the guys Kah Heng, Aaron and Daryl to hire them as my companions of the day. *grins*

The receptionist checked us in and brought us to the room (Deluxe Seaview Suite) on the highest 8th floor in Garden Wing. Like omg, the room rate per night costs RM1140. Double the cost for two nights. *gasps* Looks like I'm a very fortunate winner of the voucher.

They offered complimentary broadband internet, which is convenient to stay online. I brought my laptop, Adrian brought along his one too. Now let me show you the suite...

King sized bed! Very very comfortable to sleep at. The guys turned on the TV to watch some football match. Not my thing anymore. Next up the coolest bathroom ever.
The toilet bowl with the telephone placed on the wall. (Mirror reflection)
From left : The shower, the toilet bowl, the sink with the big big mirror to vain at.
The view from the shower inside - The lovely bathtub!
Lots of toiletries were prepared. There's shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, soap, weighing scale, bla bla bla you name them all! They're all the most luxurious hotel toiletries we ever used.
LOL at Daryl the Arabian lady. We spent a lot of time checking out the bathroom and camwhoring. More pictures will be posted up in Facebook. :)
The private balcony outside the room facing the Batu Ferringhi sea.
The breathtaking seaview.
My favourite candid picture of them three. :)
Playing with my beach volleyball.
Random shots at the beach.
We're all pretty bored to soak ourselves in the sea cause we had a number of beach outings previously. So we headed to the...
POOL! I did not bring my swimsuit along, oh so great. *slaps self* So I just soaked my legs into the jacuzzi having pool talk aka gossip session with the guys.
Daryl and Aaron at the lounge. Couldn't remember when was this.
So we headed back to the room at late evening, Another nice view from the room.
Gummy worms, elder sister bought it back from Australia. Very yummy with various flavours.
Webcam! While waiting for the guys having gay bathe in the bathroom. I won't know what happened in there and I don't even want to know. :) Except for the part Kah Heng sang Sweet Dreams by Beyonce and asked me to turn off the bathroom lights. *laughs*
Before heading to the night market! Yours truly, Daryl, Kah Heng with my tee and Aaron with my specs. More crazy group pictures to come. :)
We shopped till late night, and Adrian gave them a ride back home.
Back to the hotel, its finally my turn to fully utilize the bathroom! Bathe during midnight woots ; came out shivering ; put on the bathrobe looking so hideous in it. Good night sleep later on with mum, Andrea and Adrian.
Thanks to the guys who enlightened my day!
Aaron, the one who managed to get the green light last minute to tag along!
Kah Heng, the one who is obsessed with my beach volleyball and texting someone else. *smirks*
Daryl, the one who always cheer you up with his XD face.
Next update : Rasa Sayang - Day 2

Winter Solstice Festival

"Yes, you're now at qiao3n.blogspot! Brand new layout, thanks to Yuwei for configuring my blog settings."
I bet alot of Chinese readers has eaten
Tang Yuan, the glutinous rice dessert.
Helped my mum to form the rice balls yesterday evening, before cooking them this morning.

We had seven colours : White, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue and Purple.

Contains my favourite colour - blue!

Homemade taste.
Last year I did chopped peanuts with sugar fillings. This year shall remain original, without fillings. Tangyuan which symbolizes reunion is eaten during the Winter Solstice Festival (DongZhi in Mandarin). A great time for the family to get together. :)

Happy Winter Solstice Festival people!

Chinese Opera Mask

Woooo, its been a long long time since I took out my sketch book.
Felt like working my hands a little cause my eyes were getting tired facing the computer for two whole days working on the new blog template.
But I end up with, nothing. Neglected the pictures of my hotel stay too, somebody please kill me.
Gahhh, I need help from my neighbour to create a brand new look for the blog.
Wanted to draw Greek mythology creatures/DotA characters but I changed my mind into something more... Chinese.

Inspired by the pictures I took during Hungry Ghost Festival (I once had this obsession towards chinese opera) & my friend Tze's artwork. Hers one is so much better of course. Thanks to Google Images.
I took approximately 4 to 5 hours for this. Was slacking more than concentrating on the artwork.
p/s: I'm not on deviantART or any other art websites. I prefer to share my artwork @ my own blog. Comment? Chatbox is available. :)

Movie Marathon

My hotel stay in Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa has finally ended. Checked out a few hours ago.
One word, AWESOME.
Certainly the best hotel stay ever. (I don't know how many times I repeat this line already.)
Too much to describe, too many photos. I'll mostly update about it in a few blog entries.
Anyway, I had movie marathon with a few Traplex campers after my first night in the hotel.

Traplex '09 Executive Committees from left : Mei Wan, Wern Yen, Khai Ling, Kuang Ling, Kih Ee & Xinning.

ExCos with Xinning and me. The guys doesn't want to join in the group photo that day.
*
Our first movie was Princess and the Frog, featuring Disney's first black princess.

A prince named Naveen from the land of Maldonia is transformed into a frog by the evil scheming voodoo magician Dr. Facilier. The frog prince mistakes a girl named Tiana for a princess and has her kiss him to break the spell. The kiss does not break the spell, but instead turns Tiana into a frog as well. Together, the two of them must reach the good voodoo priestess of the Bayou, Mama Odie, while befriending a trumpet-playing alligator and a hopelessly romantic firefly along the way.
Find it quite boring as it is in 2 dimensional and the storyline's predictable. There are like 8 songs in the movie (Kevin, Wai Kin and me counted). Good thing about the movie is that it doesn't kill much time, only 1 hour and 38 mins.
*
Second one, Avatar.

"Avatar" is an emotional journey of redemption and revolution. The story tells of a wounded ex-marine, who thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, and eventually crosses over to lead an indigenous race in a battle for survival.
Not a fan of science fiction movie, but this one is epic. A must watch!
2 hours and 43 minutes of full action and excitement. I was so alert watching the movie.
The climax scene is a little saddening, when the military fleet attacked the natives of Pandora. People killing, people dying, children hurt and hear them crying. (Black Eyed Peas - Where is the Love?) Okay, that was random.
Neytiri. Reminds me of the Dryad I painted.
Later on, the gang and I went to Free School to visit Combined Training Camp's campfire night. I left the place early, sorry peeps! Reason, rushed back to hotel for buffet dinner. *grins*
*
Another movie I would like to comment, Storm Warriors 2.
Japanese evil warlord Lord Godless desired to conquer China. He imprisoned a large number of martial artists and tried to make them subjugate. Among the prisoners were Cloud and the martial arts elder statesman Nameless. Wind came to the rescue. The trio was badly wounded by Lord Godless's evil martial arts attack. Chu Chu was also knocked out when she blocked Cloud from Lord Godless's strike. The remaining martial artists sacrificed their lives to save the trio, in the hope that the trio would beat Lord Godless one day and save the country.
D.I.S.A.P.P.O.I.N.T.I.N.G. -___-
The way my friend (who watched the movie before I did) commented, "The chao lang come, lose to him, learn kung fu from sifu for approx. 3 days, then fight, win alredi, dunno what ChuChu with sucky ending".
I finally understand what you're trying to tell me after I watched the movie. Too much digital animation in an Asian Kung Fu movie, painful to watch.
Love his eyes though. Charlene Choi's pretty in the movie too.

Feel like changing the blog layout. Brand new look or the current one?

Bucket Full of Memories

I realized I haven't blog about Wei Sheng and Daniel Teoh's birthday party. It was like a month ago.

Group picture @ Paradise Hotel. Not complete one though, but it was photo of the day! Credits goes to a worker from there who took this picture. (The picture is original, no edits!)
Sheng the birthday boy called me as the photographer the day before, and so I agreed. :)
Posted up the pictures in Facebook in an album, dedicated to the birthday boys and guests.

Aaron hosted a hotel stay at Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel, a day before was Gurney with Traplex campers.

First time being in Traplex, it filled my mind with memories.
Look likes I do not regret joining a new camp, but that doesn't mean I do not miss my old ones.
What happened during last time, it shall remain the same.
*
Next up, hotel stay in Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa!
Hello to the beach again!
